Adding Company Price Ranges

  • Updated

Providing your company price ranges is an important part of having a complete company profile. Accurate price ranges will give clients an indication of what a company’s tours cost. As the price you pay for custom quote requests is directly related to your submitted price ranges, submitting incorrect price ranges may cause quote requests to be unnecessarily expensive for you.

Where to find your company price ranges

From the dashboard page, click the ‘Account’ dropdown arrow at the top right of the page and click on ‘Company Profile’. Now you can either scroll down until you see ‘Price Ranges’, or click the shortcut link at the top of the page to be taken directly there.

Types of tours

Tours are separated into four categories based on the quality of their accommodation:

  • Camping tours
  • Budget tours
  • Mid-range tours
  • Luxury tours

Furthermore, each of the four categories is split into two types of tours:

  • Private tours – A private tour is organized exclusively for a client. It can be booked by a group of people, such as friends or family, but won’t be shared with strangers
  • Shared group tours – On a shared group tour, clients will join another group of travelers

If your company does not offer one of the specific types of tours, simply check the box underneath the type of tour you do not offer, which will cancel that tour’s price range.

Average price ranges of different tours

Price ranges consist of the lowest and highest rates that you charge for each luxury category in general.

In general, the average ranges for different levels of comfort are:

  • Camping tours: US$150300
  • Budget tours: US$175375
  • Mid-range tours: US$275700
  • Luxury tours: US$5001000

Additionally, private tours are usually offered for slightly higher prices than shared group tours within the same category.

Therefore, when adding the price ranges for the tours you offer, it is important to be logical and coherent. For example, if the price range of a budget tour was higher than the price range of a luxury tour, that would not make sense. All prices filled in must represent the price of the tour per day, per person (based on a travel party of two people).

The ‘Usual rate’ of a specific tour is your most common rate offered for that tour, and must lie between the lower and higher values. The usual rate is not shown to clients. It is only used to estimate the booking value of quote requests received via your company profile.

The ‘Price range’ and ‘Usual rate’ should include:

  • Park fees and/or gorilla/chimp permits for non-residents (if applicable)
  • Accommodation and transportation during the tour
  • A tour guide and wildlife-viewing activities (if applicable)
  • All taxes/VAT, levies, charges (e.g. surcharges)
  • A marketing budget, since SafariBookings does not automatically add one on requests on your company profile.

Submitting accurate price ranges is important to get quoted the right amounts for your custom quote requests. It's very important to make sure that all of your relevant price ranges are as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
