If you’ve provided a great service to your clients in the past, you may have some positive reviews or testimonials on your current website or other platforms.
Reviews are necessary to convert requests into bookings. As a result, you could ask these past clients to write the same great review for you on the SafariBookings platform. This article will explain how you should go about doing this.
Composing the email
You will need to send your previous client an email. In this email, you will politely request that they rewrite a review they’ve done for you in the past.
This email must contain:
- The date of the client’s safari with you (month and year)
- The content of their old review (copied and pasted from the other review platform)
- A link to the SafariBookings online review form
To get the link to the review form, please do the following:
- Sign in to the tour operator admin at https://operators.safaribookings.com
- Click the ‘Reviews’ tab
- On the ‘Manage Reviews’ page, you will find a yellow info box that includes the link to your review form.
Copy the link that you see in the yellow box, and paste this link into the email that you wish to send to the former client.
Pictured below is an example of a well-written invitation message.
Please note the visible invitation link pasted close to the middle of the email (for increased awareness):
Tips for writing your email
Try to write an email that gives your former client a good reason to leave a review. Let’s take a look at some tips on how to do this:
- Make it very easy for your former client to leave a review. This means you should make the link to the review form very easy to find. Also, if they’ve written a review in the past, copy and paste the contents of their review and the link where it’s published into the email.
- If you had a memorable or fun experience interacting with the client, remind them of this. If they feel positive feelings when reading the email, this can be enough of a reason for them to write a review.
- If you can’t remember any experiences, simply write in a warm and friendly tone. Make the former client feel like you really appreciated their business.
The review form
To make things very convenient for your former client you should provide them with as much information about their trip as possible. That way they don’t have to think too much or sift through their emails to remember dates etc. If they have to put in too much effort, they will probably abandon the process.
Let’s take a look at the major parts of the form:
- The date that the former client went on safari with you. Please include this information in the email.
- The overall rating. They will likely give you the same rating as the first review they’ve done for you.
- The review title
- The actual review content. Please include the written content of their original review in the mail you send them. This is where they will paste that information.

Click here to read more about collecting new reviews for your SafariBookings profile.
You will discover how to use the invite service for new clients, as well as the rating widget. You will also see how to add your SafariBookings reviews to your own website.
Please keep in mind that you (or your employees) cannot write a review on behalf of your past clients. This would be seen as fraudulent. Review fraud will cause the permanent closure of your account. Read more about that here.
Please note that all reviews are checked by our review checking team for legitimacy. First automatically, then sometimes also manually. This process can take up to one week, so please be patient when waiting for reviews to be added to your company profile.
