    Summary:
    – Starting March 1st, 2026, SafariBookings will accept payments in Tanzania exclusively from VAT-registered companies
    – To avoid disruption to your business, please submit a digital copy of your VAT certificate (see example) as well as your TIN and VRN numbers to your billing profile
    – Reverse VAT applies: We will not add VAT to your invoices; you are responsible for accounting for it with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA)

  • VAT Registration Required (South Africa) (Sept 10, 2025)
    Summary:
    – South African tour operators will need to provide a valid Value Added Tax (VAT) registration number for their company to be able to keep adding funds to their SafariBookings account starting January 1, 2026
    – In 2026, you will no longer be able to add funds without a VAT registration number linked to your SafariBookings account from South Africa

  • Kenyan Tax Regulations and Your Invoices (July 17, 2025)
    Summary:
    – To ensure compliance with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) we will begin adding 16% VAT and 3% SEP tax to all invoices for Kenyan operators, effective August 1, 2025.
    – Our solution is to pass these new tax costs on to the traveler by adjusting the marketing budget on your tours from 10% to 12%.
    – This adjustment is optional; you can contact support to have it disabled for your account.
    – Payments will be unavailable on July 31 to prepare for this change
