As a much requested feature, SafariBookings now allows tour operators to block incoming quote requests from clients that are located in the country that a tour visits. Our data has shown us that even though local clients often require less preparation, they have a slightly lower conversion rate which may be a reason for not wanting to accept these quote requests. The following setting allows tour operators to make their tours invisible for local tourists.
Blocking local requests
Requests are blocked on a per-tour basis. As such, you'll have to go to the payment-per-quote request section of an individual tour on your company Dashboard to block local quote requests:
From here, scroll down to the 'payment per country or region' section, toggle 'I would like to set a different payment per country or region that overrules the default payment', and you will be able to set the payment per country specifically. If you click on the country that your tour visits, you will be able to select 0.0% as a payment percentage.
For example, for a tour that visits South Africa, you will be able to set the payment percentage to 0.0%. Visitors of the SafariBookings website from South Africa will no longer be able to see your tour, while all other countries can still request a quote.
Press the red 'Save' button, and your tour will now be invisible to potential clients in the country of destination. Keep in mind that this also means that the tour will be invisible to you if your location is in South Africa.
Please be advised that by activating this setting, you will also block quote requests from overseas travellers who are already in the country which you are blocking quote requests from, and you may miss out on potential business from these travellers.
